I really think it's more about knowing the kids in question. I was having co-ed sleepovers and not once did anything "happen" between myself and the guy(s) who stayed over. We actually were just best friends since early grade school, our parents knew each other, and they rightfully trusted us. We'd watch TV, eat pizza, play video games and pass out on the couch.

It would have to be a situation like that for me to allow it for my daughters (they're both too young right now to even want sleepovers at all). I'm not counting out the possibility of saying "over my dead body", I'm just saying it shouldn't be an automatic rejection because of their ages. :)

I've always been a "night owl" by anyone's standards. I adore sitting outside on cool nights and just looking up at the stars. It's so quiet and still, like you're the only person on Earth, surrounded by the calm, awe-inspiring beauty of the night sky. This is a wonderful list for someone like me. :)

I was a very paranoid expectant mother my first go-round and I made the horrible mistake of researching birth defects so I'm afraid I was already all too familiar with these and the others that were mentioned here in the comments. I'm just thankful to have 2 healthy girls and it breaks my heart to hear that any baby or parent of these babies has to suffer from any of these.

I used to work for Securitas. Not the depot in Kent, but elsewhere - I'd be happier they got robbed if it weren't for all the kidnapping that was done to rob them.

I actually saw the 1 hour special about Brooke Greenberg (#1), and I was amazed by her story. Great list!
