Comment Threading

We built IntenseDebate to improve the dialogue within the comment section. You no longer have to try to follow the maze of conversations going on in the comments by means of "@ username" or "@ comment number." With Intense Debate the comments are threaded, allowing you to reply directly to an individual comment.

Indented replies at different levels make following the various conversations manageable.
Reply-By-Email

Part of our goal to improve the comment conversation is to make it easier to get involved. Reply-By-Email helps minimize the number of steps between you and your debate. With IntenseDebate you can respond to and moderate your comments with ease via email, even if your on the go. Just because you're away from your computer doesn't mean the conversation stops.

Importing/Exporting

Look, we know that we're not your first and we may not be your last comment system, and we're ok with that. Our comment importers and exporters make bringing your comments with you a piece of cake, so you don't need to worry about losing a single one.

Commenter Profiles

Your comments are your voice and so far your voice has been lost into a endless void of anonymity. IntenseDebate brings your identity into the light by providing you with a user profile and comment history..
Moderation/Blacklisting

IntenseDebate gives you powerful moderation tools to help screen spam comments before they're posted to your blog. You can opt to have comments containing certain key words deleted automatically or have them held in your moderation queue where you can approve or delete them.
RSS Readers & Tracking

RSS readers make life simple. That's why we've integrated IntenseDebate comments with Google Reader and Bloglines (with more RSS readers on the way) so you can read and post comments directly from your RSS reader.

Reputation Points & Comment Voting

Each IntenseDebate user has a reputation attached to their identity that is displayed whenever they make a comment. The reputation value serves as a quick overview of a commenter's history and is based on the quantity and more importantly the quality of the comments they've made.
Widgets

We've built some fancy widgets based on your feedback. You can display your blog's comment stats, the most recent comments made on your blog, your most popular posts on your blog, the most recent comments you've made, even who the top IntenseDebaters are.
Twitter

When you post a comment with IntenseDebate you have the option to send a Tweet on a post-by-post basis letting your followers know you commented on a post. It's a great way to share posts. Learn more here

FriendFeed

As your content gets more and more fragmented across other 3rd party services, our goal is to bring your blog content back to you. With this in mind, we're really pleased to offer FriendFeed Comment Retrieval. Now when comments are made in the context of your blog on FriendFeed, IntenseDebate will republish them back on your blog! All you need to do is enter in your FriendFeed URL and select the option in your IntenseDebate profile. Find out more here.
Gravatar

Intensedebate offers full Gravatar support including something we like to call Auto-Grab Gravatar support. If you have a Gravatar we will automatically upload your Gravatar when you signup for IntenseDebate. You can choose to use your Gravatar or upload a different profile pic.

OpenID

We offer full OpenID 2.0 support, so don't worry about having to remember another set of login credentials.
