I'm pretty sure I'm late on the commenting here, but a friend posted the link to this particular blog today...so...

I'm living in the bush of Africa right now: Masai Mara, Kenya to be exact. It interesting to me because we constantly encounter elephants. Often times they are all around our house. I sold all I owned and am in the process of moving to Kenya forever, and I know many people think I'm a little crazy for doing so. But I know God's word is true...I couldn't be out here away from all that I know if it weren't. I often catch myself becoming impatient with the Lord because I'm ready to be here full-time NOW! I could go on and on, but I'll spare you the sob story! :-)

The Lord is so gracious...so incredibly gracious. What an amazing God we have who would never lead us astray!?! The world and our friends and our family will prove themselves to be untrustworthy, but God's love never fails.

I have been fighting the deception that Satan was wanting me to buy into all this week. I was asked to hand out worship folders and greet people for this Sunday's service. I saw this task as "menial". Pretty ridiculous, right?

Satan wants me to think that unless I'm front and center I'm not serving God like I should be, but God wants me to be satisfied serving Him in whatever capacity He deems with a loving heart.

I'm sure there were days when David probably didn't want to be out with the sheep, but he did it...and rejoiced in it.

It's not supposed to be glamorous. Being a Christian isn't about glamor..it's about humility.

2 Corinthians 2:11

"11so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs."

I know this is strange, but discouragement is from Satan. Feelings of worthlessness are from Satan. This verse helps me to remember that Satan knows EXACTLY what buttons to push, and therefore I must remain alert and mindful that he is constantly attacking me...trying to deceive me. When I choose to give in to those "feelings" instead of remembering the grace and sovereignty of Christ, Satan wins. God gives us a moment. One single moment at a time because that is all we are capable of, and even then we need His grace to get us through the moment. To follow Christ every moment of every day is a constant choice that we must make.

Be reminded of the battle we are all fighting every moment of every day.

I have nothing witty to say, and I shan't scream if I'm not chosen. I would be honored to be blessed with free music. It's probably, aside from prayer, the most commonly used means of communication that our Heavenly Father uses to speak with me, and so many others. Will you pick me? I dunno? Will I buy these lovely tunes if you don't? Yep. Will the Lord speak to me through them? YEP! He's faithful that way. Good stuff. Good stuff, indeed.
