I agree and disagree with schools using social media. If they have the resources and won't be wasteful, then great. But as a student and writer/reporter, I'm annoyed with how things have been handled at my own school. We just got an almost ten percent raise in tuition. Do I want them wasting time on Twitter? No thanks. Have I set up a Twitter account for our school paper? Yes. Because I know that it's something that we will use and put our efforts into. I'm doubting that most universities actually give a shit about social media. Sadly, all they care about is the bottom line.
