Good point. This might make the act of registering for sites, signing up for newsletters, and possibly evening commenting on sites like this more difficult from the user perspective.

If there are going to be severe fines attached to these regulations then I think the federal government needs to be very careful about how they word this bill and how strictly they enforce it. The internet needs to continue to grow and grow rapidly for it to create the next generation of engaging and amazing web services. The last thing I want to see is another layer of restriction, regulations, and huge fines because of ambiguous laws.

I like that way of looking at it. That it's not a coupon site, but a social media tool that shows people a great local business and at the same time gives them a coupon to actually go there and not just read about it. That's very clever. I think that's a biggest difference why Groupon has exploded while the hundreds of coupons sites out there are all flat with growth.
