Colbert is a really great multi-tasker. He gets that the audience in the room are there for a different reason than the secondary audience and he exploits that discrepancy for huge effect (some of his other notable appearances have a simillar dynamic). He is also able to make a serious point and tell jokes at the same time.

Sometimes the only redeemable thing about two seperate people is that they despise each other.

Yeah he's old school. He was a fringe conspiracy theory guy back when that meant something different than just being a mainstram republican. Check out his cameo appearance in A Scanner Darkly for extra nostalgia.

So you spend your time demanding that other people's blogs change their editorial decisions to better fit your priorities? Your not an operative from the Politico here to "win our morning" are you?

You just described our current healthcare system plus a liftime supply of Vicodin and a free suicide class. I dare you to run on that platform and lose in 2010.

well to be a stickler, In Alien3 they were a religeous brotherhood of prisoners who chose to stay behind after the rest of the inmates were transferred. I think SuperJail might be a closer comparisson warden-wise.

Kings Quest is a reference I never expected anyone to make. It's like you saw Rileys nerd-reference post last week and got competetive.

When I was 16 I volunteered with Naders 2000 campaign. I was living in the suburbs of Seattle and our group consisted of about 7 people: two of us high-school age, and the other six middle aged. All of us were male, white, and socially hopeless. My mom voted for Nader that year. It was also the year my father, traditionally a republican, gave up voting altogether. Bush won president and It was the last time I was even the least bit idealistic about politics. Every kids gotta learn somehow.

To most liberal bloggers, writing about serious democratic candidates is like a really dull term paper they know they will need to finish by the end of fall quarter, but for the time being they are just procrastinating.
