The real comparison comes from the last century when an out of control dictator made open threats to the world, decried the Jewish race and made preperations for war and the world first yawned, then placated and only reacted when the inevitable happened. The cost of ignoring the gathering storm was 10s of millions dead. Today the world is only somewhat wiser. The comments coming out of Iran and the open threats to all cannot be ignored, especially in light of the attempts to get a nuclear bomb. The nay sayers base their aurguments on logical assumptions that the leaders of Iran will not do what will end in their own distruction. To assume suicide bombing lunatics that are students of islamic end time prophesy will act logically is in and of itself illogical. Iran is a gathering storm and we have to take their words to their people to heart now and not when a fishing boat loaded with a nuke goes off in N.Y. harbor.

This is all a matter of perspective. To conservatives a tax is a method to raise revenue and a fine is method to discourage unwanted behavior. To a liberal both are just methods used to exercise control and are thus interchangeable. Just like liberty to one means freedom from government and to the other it means freedom of government. The problem is people seem to think Obama is speaking English when what is usually on the teleprompter is socialistese.

To the liberal mind choice is tyranny and government dependency is the road to freedom. Of course they also see spending like there is no tomorrow as an investment and think overall employment being down means the economy is growing. It is no wonder they support "new math" and no criticism "self esteem building" policies in schools, they are their main paths to success.

While we are at it lets bust up the DHS and rid ourselves of the TSA.
