Joan...I moderate comments as soon as I can. Sorry for the delay, but I'm currently at the "real" job. We certainly don't censor anyone for their legitimate opinion!

"Don and the other Dan Maes supporters that read this newspaper; let’s all take a deep breath. Let’s see if we can bring some balance to this discussion. I supported Dan early. He lost me with the campaign finance complaint in June alleging excessive reimbursement for campaign expenses and the negotiated $17,500.00 fine. Many supporters told me its no big deal. The complaint was politically motivated by McInnis supporters. However, the amount of the fine was a big deal. "I asked myself, if I donate money to Maes will my donation go to pay for signs or fines? So did many others. By my math, 196,000 votes in the primary gaving $2.00 each, Dan would have more money in the campaign chest than ever before. Dan never gained the support of the average GOP voters and therefore no donations. If Tom Tancredo came out on July 26, 2010 in support of Dan instead of launching a third party run would Tom have the horn and tails you imply he has in your article? I think not.

"As a conservative – and I am a Conservative before I am a Republican – I cannot vote for the GOP primary winner. I’m throwing the B.S. flag on Dan Maes, his supporters and this newspaper. You win the respect, votes and monetary support of people with truth and honesty - not obfuscation of the facts.

"In the race for Governor, I invoke the William F. Buckley rule – you vote for the most conservative candidate in the race that can win. Currently polling 15%, loosing a two way race by +15 points and unable to raise money is not a recipe for victory. I think it’s time the Maes supporters put down the knife down so not to do damage to their faces and noses – exhale and let go of the spite."
