I never watched Brothers and Sisters but you aren't the first person to be upset that they canceled it. I don't know if I mentioned it in my post, but ABC canceled Pushing Daisies and I loved that show. I know how you feel. Did they at least wrap up all the story lines?

I agree that IHMYTD isn't trying to break any molds here. It's a filler show and probably was picked up because it appealed to the female demographic of 13-59 year old women. It will be canceled after the first season. But then again, Reba somehow lasted 6 seasons. Maybe it's because I have nothing to base a mother-daughter relationship on that I don't have a problem with the show. The funnies part in the trailer was when the mothers started dancing to intentionally embarrass the daughters. That's any teenager's biggest fear. My mom will probably like this show.
And laugh tracks are always painful to hear. I would be 'OK' if those went away.

I read a couple of Fear Street books. I enjoyed those a well. Never read any Pike but the name is familiar. My Dad read Clive Cussler books. For some reason those were the only books he would read (and still to this day). But I think my parents and I have different tastes in terms of books.
There is a huge local used bookstore up in Portland. Every time I visit it I pick up another CYOA book. The problem is I've forgotten which ones i've already purchased.

I have not read the first Pine Cove book (Practical Demonkeeping) so I can't say just how good that book is. But I can testify that you can enjoy the books out of order. The only Christopher Moore books that I think you should read in order are his vampire novels (Bloodsucking Fiends, You Suck, and Bite Me). A Dirty Job was the first Moore book that I read and look how well that turned out for me.

Or like they replaced the mother on Family Matters during the last season. Although I think when Family Matters moved to CBS the fans stopped considering it canonical.

I imagine at Married Nerd Meetings all the little kids have been dressed up like star wars characters by their parents.
