I would think several of JKR's techniques would translate well to horror -- especially her world building and the way she weaves in mysteries and keeps the reader guessing.

Leslie, I'm equally conflicted. They seem to be giving the author a lot more power and choice s now, but I'm afraid what would happen if they become the only game in the market.
