Sorry, but Nixon on Laugh-In was way ahead of Clinton.

That said, I agree with you. Even if the office-holder commands no respect, the office itself still should. And plastering yourself on late-night shows, or The View, or whatever, does nothing whatsoever to bring respect to the office of the President of the United States.

I do see what you mean, but he will eventually

Sorry, I have to disagree. If WI decided to dock his pay for running away, THAT would be holding it back, restaining it, or checking it. Simply determining another form of getting the check doesn't qualify as withholding.

"State Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D) has been hit particularly hard by his paycheck being withheld..."

Uh, Jon, it's NOT being withheld. You ust have to go and pick it up.

What a maroon!

The really sad thing is that if Gerson, Rove, et al had actually gotten behind despised "Tea Party" candidates like Angle and O'Donnell once they had been chosen by their state voters, they would have had a much better chance of winning their states. But no, can't have inexperienced, racist, chillbilly-supported candidates in Congress, messing up the status quo. And so, we lose the Senate, and somehow, that's OUR fault.

Don't know much about Gerson, but I do respect Rove. But unless they and their pals undergo a huge (and I mean HUGE) attitude adjustment, they will be left behind.

Sheesh, if that's the unedited plot syonpsis that the teacher wrote and distributed to the students, those kids are not only getting indoctrinated, they're being robbed of a decent education in Literature and Composition--especially the Composition part. That's one crappy write-up from an educator expected to teach how to write a proper composition.

Perhaps the superintendent can also address the teacher's woeful lack of qualifications to teach her class through that "teacher evaluation process" which will -- it is to be hoped -- lead totermination.

You guys are way behind the times here!

The school blames state law for its candy policy and slaps the kid with a week’s worth of detention. The state says: nope, that’s not our purview, and we don’t set disciplinary policy for schools, and you’re way over-reacting to a piece of candy. School backs down, kid learns a valuable lesson about how life isn’t fair.
