Why would companies be this political and stupid, to alienate half their customer base -- I think I got it! It's basically virtue signalling aimed at supporting corporate rent-seeking goals.

The progressives politicize pretty much *everything* since *everything* is subject to their desire to be in control in order to deliver a more perfect society. So as the progressives of both parties have been able to grow the size and power of the State to the point where it can heavily influence the economy, pick winners and losers, sucking up to those in charge of the State becomes increasingly important to the success of your business. This is a symptom of Crony Capitalism.

Given that the Progressive Democrats are the de-facto party of the State today, it then makes sense that companies seeking favors and benefits from the State will start to adopt and parrot their values through PAC donations, revolving door hiring, donations to progressive causes and the like. And, virtue signalling like Kellogg's did against Brietbart is an act designed to garner political support for its rent seeking goals -- see, I share *your* values too, I am a worthy corporate friend and ally of your cause -- be good to me, reward me!

??? Really?? A generation of post-war Americans grew up watching movies about the Bataan Death March and reading about Imperial Japanese atrocities. The Empire of Japan wsa utterly crushed, their entire society was smashed and rebuilt, their cities nuked and firebombed to ash, what more do you want?

...and the Empire of Japan was utterly defeated, its cities fire-bombed and nuked to ash and rubble, its leaders (except the puppet Emperor) trialed and executed for their war crimes, and their political society completely dismantled and rebuilt along Western/US lines. And what more do you want, exactly??

Why does Matthews still get the label "journalist" when he declares his dedication (and his pique) -- "We're in this fight with you, give us your marching orders." Really?? You're in the fight with Obama? Lovely.

Maybe we can vote with a show of "Jazz Hands" on everything!! Say, it would be cool if someone got the megaphone and recited the Declaration of Independence -- would the drones even realize what was being said or simply mimic it like trained parrots??

Good criminey -- how low can you stoop to go before a group of 5th graders and say "Not my fault!!! All that other guy's fault!"

I suppose this actually calls for utter panic! NASA has been shamelessly wrong about Global Warming, can't even launch a freakin' shuttle or old-fashioned rocket to maintain the $110 BILLION space station now crewless up in orbit...can't perform it's primary function as a space agency...and they make a certain sounding pronouncement about there being no asteroid danger to Earth. We're all doomed.

HuffPo already censors conservative and centrists via their "moderator" system -- if you slam or criticize liberal/left icons and policies, or support Sara Palin, your comment will not be posted. She already has Thought Police in place, and this will translate to everything else eventually. AOL committed suicide the day it put her in charge of its media.
