do you think there is real political will to really address this imbalance seriously?

I think there is intention but I am not convicted of strong political will to address this imbalance though as many are more content in playing politics than understanding and addressing the real issues that many people from the middle to lower income faces realistically

Herman Melville (author of Moby Dick) once said: “Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well- warmed, and well-fed.”

I grew up at the areas of where the LRT was built. If the attitude and mindset in the MRT remains the same as the LRT, may God help us all.... the locals and the MRT management have no idea what they are preparing for or what is coming their way, the major transport blockage if they do not start to solve all the real existing problems.

More of ignorance that double standards... if you have ever spoken to some of them, you would be surprised and how much some of them are not aware of.

Don't take what you know for granted too, many of those who already know, think everyone around them knows just because "this is the Internet Age", and "we are all in the information age" but realise how many people just use their phones and internet to focus on "something else that is not quite information" :-p

Let us fight ignorance with education. "Education" begins when we become AWARE of what we do not know, and LEARN the differences, CHANGE/MAKE something new of it.

Are we not ignorant too that many are ignorant about these things, and those of us who knows (many of us who read here) can do something about it after being aware and learn of the difference. Too many of us don't change and make something new out of it and expects the governments or others to do so and absolve ourselves of this responsibility of ours. With new knowledge, it is power and there comes the responsibility and ability to make a change, however slow it may be. Don't be stupid and just complain.

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

The States have the right to pass those enactments, even though we do not agree to it. It is the right of the state and its people to accept and reject it via voting and careful selection of its assemblymen, as that is the system, even though it is not practiced as such. Fix the people or fix the system and stop the blame.
