Could you point us to some good talks by Lessig? I assume I could find some if I Google him, but maybe you already know where to look for his best.
I thoroughly enjoyed Drive when I read it a few months back. Like you say in your review, it is amazing that "traditional" creative management styles persist despite their proven ineffectiveness. So much of what Pink recommends actually makes a lot of sense and it's exciting to see that companies have already been successful using these "new" motivators. I hope more leaders, entrepreneurs, and managers realize the need to embrace Pink's findings.
I remember moving to North Carolina (The South) from Pennsylvania (The North) when I was in 9th grade. I thought it was really weird when we went to the grocery store and the checker started talking to us, asking us about our day. Why was this perfect stranger talking to me? Was something wrong with her?
It's so funny how different cultures look at connection and hospitality.
Froth is like the meringue in a slice of lemon ice-box pie. It's almost completely tasteless, is there more for decoration than anything else, and really just comes between me and the good stuff. Luckily, no one I've met yet makes lemon ice-box pies that are 100% meringue. I HAVE heard lots of presentations that were 100% meringue.
Now I want pie.
Good stuff. Excellent questions. It took me several years working a job I disliked to come to the realization that it was in my power to change it. As soon as I realized who I was, it was easier to decide what work to do.
