The hose picks will find their way into every other job you will ever do again. They are useful for a million non-hose-picking things.

Thanks.

While I'm at it, thanks to all the hoons who have been following this story and all the positive comments. I have enjoyed sharing this project with the Hooniverse. Further, this has been the most enjoyable automotive project I have ever done - partly because it's cool, but mostly because of the family connection - working with my dad and learning more about my grandfather who passed a few years ago. The build and the blog entries were all done with him in mind.

If any of you ever see the midget in person, feel free to ask for a test drive. Hatchtoptia Ray has driven it and can attest to the happiness quotient it provides.

In case you want some back story, click here to read the original story I wrote about the midget during the weekend blogger contest at <ahem> jalopnik. < ;http://needthatcar.com/the-midget/>

I sold the Marlin a while ago. It was one of those cars I always wanted...until I had one.

That car had zero rust. None. Which, if you know anything about Marlins, is quite the oddity. Alas, it had to go. I have replaced it with a 1980 Plymouth Arrow pickup. Both the Marlin and the Arrow are posts for another day.

The third battery is sandwiched between the back of the seat and the rear diff.

Here's the tray:

So, somewhere between the 31 mph posted above, and the 141 posted here, I believe the truth lies. All indicators point to Marty McFly's 88 MPH.

Wow, that, my friend, is convincing. Trust me, when I go through with it, I will let the Hooniverse know.

I measured that section of the ramp at 48", the slope just increased it by 21/32". I made the drawings in google Sketchup, which allows adding measurements like that.

Prices have gone up. Roger Miller was getting his rooms for fifty cents.
