The funny thing about the Bono picture is that Bono strenuously objected to this philosophy in 2007 during the TED conference when presented by Andrew Mwenda, a Ugandan journalist. Mwenda ended up being the smartest guy in the room. http://www.ted.com/talks/andrew_mwenda_takes_a_ne...

The remaining candidates need to agree to do one thing: the next time such an asinine question is asked, the first candidate up needs to say "I think the American public would be more concerned about 'Fast & Furious (or jobs or deficit or whatever truly relevant topic), does the audience agree? And here are my thoughts on that..." And the other candidates back that up by their OWN commentary on the same point no matter WHAT the commentator does. THIS would be more effective than just going off on the commentators like Newt does.

Might want to take up that whole race card thing up with the first speaker at our Anti-Holder protest in Austin last week: http://northtexasteaparty.org/2011/12/15/a-respon...

You make some excellent points here. The problem is the cultural expectation- both in Black and Caucasian cultures- that black have a certain political belief structure. Actually, the same goes for Hispanics. Are Caucasian males the ONLY ones PERMITTED to have a variety of opinions???
Your points have a LOT of commonality with the ladies to be found at http://www.thelastcivilright.org Many people would be shocked by some of the opinions expressed there; but SHOULDN"T be. The Last Civil Right; to have whatever political opinion you choose to have.

Yeah; figures they'd pull this one for the 'Awwww!' factor. Forget that none of you can find a job; look at the cute baby!

BS! Here's the line that makes it such: "The problem is do you want them on the public dole collecting welfare all their life or want them to be able to get a good job and eventually become tax paying U.S citizens?"
That is not the issue. The issue is if we give them a subsidy THAT MANY U.S. CITIZENS DO NOT GET!

Here's another thing. They always talk about 'breaking up the family' if they deport illegals with American-born kids. I've got news for you, Bucko; American kids are raised all over the world, OUTSIDE the U.S. My own niece and nephew Are American citizens by birth... but spent the last 6 years of their life in their parent's native Taiwan.

Paxton picked up 3 Representatives in under 24 hours yesterday; I guess that's 'no headway'.
Folks, intimidation and coercion has been going on for decades (it was when I was an insider in the early 80s). It is time this stops (and the lawsuit that forced it to an open process is ONLY the first step) and that the Speaker reflect the mandate of the electorate. That requires a caucus of the respective parties for their choices- AND A SECRET BALLOT in those caucuses. The vote of the whole House is open and recorded; that will inform the voters how each representative voted- and allow the voter to act accordingly. If Straus really has that much support without the threats and coercion, let him prove it in such a manner.

I guess I'll try again to convince my Chinese wife and Ugandan daughter- along the two African-American and one Asian-American candidates I've worked for- that I must be a racist since I'm in the Tea Party. They remain unconvinced. Maybe I'll have better luck when I go in October to Uganda to work with the orphans.

Instant ad for his opponent. There is a small chance of this guy getting knocked off. If November is bad enough for the Dems that he is, Pelosi is toast.
