I agree with others on here - I think her remarks were taken out of context and believe that she was perhaps only a little naive to even mention the subject book and seems to be humbly apologetic. Its time that all sensible, rational Malaysians ignore all this racist rubbish and just let UMNO/BN/Perkesa et al rant, rave and argue amongst themselves while the silent majority in this country get on with our lives under a PR government.

This argument over the use of Allah by non-muslims was and still is an absolute nonsense. Islam in Malaysia is once again being overly defensive, insecure and intolerant. The word is clearly used by non-muslims in other muslim-majority countries, but of course the "sensitive", introverted muslims in Malaysia cannot accept this for some very strange reason. Its a pity the authorities don't worry about much more important issues than this silly, trivial issue.

These amendments MUST be rejected out of hand. We already have massive election frauds, including army officers filling out ballot forms on behalf of their men en masse. Postal votes are also totally discredited. This proves that UMNO/BN are sure that unless they cheat, there is no hope of them holding on to Putrajaya. This must be stopped!

For heaven's sake people - why is this such a "sensitive" issue? Get a grip! The volume of speakers used to call adherents to prayer is such a major issue? Why?? What is it with the small-minded people in this country. Such issues have recently been resolved in Penang - the suspicion that the Kampung Kerinchi incident is being fuelled by UMNO might or might not be true, but please - there are many ore serious issues to worry about than this. God help us if it causes even more rifts in inter-religious feelings!

Good - this is what is needed - an open and well structured session to explain to all rakyat and gain their confidence that PR can take over Putrajaya. What is just as urgent and very important is the formation of a shadow cabinet. This is essential that there is a shadow for every member of the BN cabinet. If, god willing, PR won an election in May or June, who will be in the new Federal Cabinet? We need to have some idea now.

"Najib did not refuse outright the challenge to debate but questioned the point of such an exercise." The point Mr PM is that it will give the rakyat a chance to hear both sides of the argument - the government and the opposition. Isn't this what democracy is all about? You are clearly not confident enough to take on Anwar because deep down inside you know that he is right about the cost of corruption to the country. There is no way that you could defend the billions of ringgit lost to corruption. PR state that they will pay for all their reforms from crushing corruption. Just look at what Penang have achieved. You know it is true, but are too cowardly to stand up and defend your position. Sad, really sad.

Please don't fall into the BN/UMNO trap of calling for the newspaper to be closed down if PR takes Putrajaya (which it must, at all costs), as this is just the same as what BN is doing by trying to curtail freedom of speech and monopolising the MSM. Just repeal the PPPA and open up the media completely. Just let Utusan Malaysia die naturally (it is half way there already), but do not try to emulate the current BN.

I thought that at the Federal level, if a bill is not signed by the Agong, then it still becomes law after 30 days? Is this not the case also at the state level?

So what's new? Anyone in the government or their boot lickers can say what they like and get away with it. If you are aligned with the opposition however, it is a completely different story.
