There was a call early in the game where the base ump called a Cyclone out on a close play to end the inning and a Cyclones rally. As Backman made his way from the 3rd base coaches box to the dugout he looked out to the umpire who turned his bck and jogged out to short left center field knowing that Wally wouldn't go that far out to argue the call. So that 9th inning bad home run call gave Backman an opportunity to get at the umpire after all. Smart move by Wally
