I have done the same thing. It is just more money in my pocket. I just think it is crazy that you had to go through the hassle. It would have been more efficient for all parties if they just let you keep the dress you ordered and refunded you back the difference. That would saved everyone time and money...

I just ordered business cards for my blog as well. I got a deal since I know the owner of http://pressinkllc.com My grandmother always used to say that it takes money to make money and I agree. However, every investment should have a ROI. (rate of return) I think what you spent was reasonable, even more so if they helped with the design. Your business card speaks a lot of who you are. You could have just went with VistaPrint.com and selected free business cards. Would they work? Absolutely. Would people think differently of your business? Most definitely. As far as your face cream goes, it is what you like and what you want. I don't see an issue with it. I really don't see an issue with anything someone buys with cash as long as they are debt free and are saving at least 15% a year for retirement. You just have to balance enjoying your life with responsible spending. Cheers to you. Well done!

I agree with you. I think during some stages of our lives we get retarded with money. Weddings, funerals, new cars, houses...etc. Emotions run rampant during these times and the people on the receiving end of our money try to make you think that money isn't important. They are wrong. Money is very important. What makes things worse is when people finance such things. They are living in the now and realizing how important it is to live now, but keep your future in mind. I have paid a lot of "stupid tax" over the years and it ended. I write a lot about this in my pf blog, The Angry Millionaire. As far as "Professional" photographers go, I have taken some of the best pictures with my $100.00 point-and-shoot digital than I have with my $1600.00 Canon SLR camera. I have found some of my friends that I grew up with have side photography businesses they promote on Facebook. I would work out a deal with them. You help them advertise their business and they give you a major financial break. Not including that someone you know personally is taking part in your marriage. Good luck to you!

That is awesome Krystal! I am very jealous... I want to go to the FBC! I am sure you will have a blast. Let us know how it goes. Post some pictures! Maybe I can go next year. Hopefully, I will have some side income as well to help get me out of debt faster. I like it how you seem to hold yourself accountable on your blog. I am doing the same thing with my blog and tracking my quest in becoming debt free. Cheers to you!

I don't think it is a matter of getting it solve, I think it is a matter of keeping it from happening again.

Honestly, for me, 3 times and you are out of here... You have given AMEX more chances to get it right than I would have. Maybe they were bought out by BOA - Bank of America. They both seem to have a bunch of idiots working for them. Amex should reimburse you 5% of the fraud charges just as an "inconvenience" rebate. I would keep them then...LOL

To hire or not to hire...that is the question... at least for this post... In my most humble opinion, if you are not in debt, do not like to clean, can afford the service and your time is better spent elsewhere, then hire the cleaner. It is not like you are asking to hire a maid, butler or a driver. Let's look at this from a different perspective. Knowing what your time is worth, financially speaking, would it be cheaper to hire someone or do it yourself? Even if the price was the same, not having to deal with cleaning would, at least for me, take a load off of my shoulders. I would recommend a cleaning person referred by another and not a company who hires whoever. Besides, I would not let just anyone in my home alone with what I own. Hmmm I made a rhyme. LOL so... not intentional.. LOL Let us know how it goes!

I would agree with you about laughing all the way to the bank, but it is her honeymoon and it sounds like she really wants to go in June. I say go in June!
