Interesting that CMucous raises Western Sahara which is as close to a west bank separation as one can find in the world. Not only repressed and oppressed but kept in refugee camps apart from their homeland in W.Sahara which is being exploited of resources by Moroccan govt...and there is a huge wall that runs the length of that strip of land in W.Sahara. They fled the military which actually had back up help from the USAF in the 70s which bombed the resistance from the air. They are literate and culturally different from Morocco which "occupied" them. That took place after Spain relinquished their long standing occupation of W.S. It is an issue that has been 'strangely' absent/AWOL from North American news reports.
