Teachers unions make millions. Administrators in my county make over 150K per year, while doing nothing but pushing paper...run of the mill teacher may make a lower salary, but they also have full benefits and medical through the rest of their lives when they retire. Most in my state can "retire" at age 58. So you do the math. Here in CO we also have a lawsuit Labato V. Colorado that would ask the state to hand over the ENTIRE state budget to the school system. So no, they are con artists, and stop with the BS that it is for the kids. They could have all the money in the world and they still couldn't teach children to read, write, or factor, much less think and contend in the arts and science fields.
The teaching field does not attract people because you are no longer teaching a field in which you are an expert. You are an expert in "teaching" which is worthless. So instead of a person who has excelled in the math field teaching and passing on their understanding and knowledge of math, we have teaching majors trying desperately to teach a subject they neither enjoy nor understand. They do get points for trying to justify their failures by begging for more money.

Our side needs to make a video that shows the teachers Union taking money...Uncle Sam handing large stacks for cash...in line waiting for the money are the teacher/administrators/unions (You could lebel them with uinion t-shirts) then the students...teachers take 90% of it and walking away...poor little kids barefoot and crying sharing the meger left-overs...there has to be some conservative in CA video biz who could do it.

I now have a stomach ache...this is the exact type of thing our freedoms and laws were supposed to prevent!

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of a higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
Thomas Jefferson, letter to John B. Colvin, September 20, 1810.

Art Robinson's political career may not be the only reason for this...his children have excelled beyond expectation without one single hour of public training in the public school system.
As a single parent (their mother passed away some years ago) Dr. Robinson has raised his children well. He has assembled and marketed one of the best collections of rare and wonderful books, developed a course of intensive reading that can be individualized for each kid, and he shows parents how to teach their children to learn on their own. This program is phenominal and is so outside of the 'public institution' style of teaching. I am surprised they have not come after him before.
To read his personal story and all of the things the Robinson family does to help truly educate young minds, check it out www.robinsoncurriculum.com
This commercial was not a paid advertisement...I have the Robinson Curriculum, and it breaks my heart that they are under attack like this. But, when you are in the lead, the animals come after you!

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.---(signed) George Washington "

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

Sorry, Washington established the holiday in1789. The following (in 3 posts) is his proclamation (the first ever), that was lost for about 130 years, and then found...but still he was the first. I am glad that Lincoln re-established the holiday and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

"Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:

It's amazing that these facts were out there when they started pushing this drug. Many moms I know didn't get this for their daughters because they did their homework and thought for themselves. They were verbally shamed by their Dr's for not getting it and now this comes up...I guess common sense and mother-witt come through in the end.

This reminds me of the moment in "Live Free or Die hard" When the snot nose kid says he thought a fire sale would be fun...and Bruce Willis replies that this is about a country, about people in their homes, about people hurt and being scared and alone without help etc. Where is "That Guy" now to explain this concept to the president?

Great, a whole generation of kids isolated and frowned upon for desiring a friendship that is not sexual in nature, but in which there is a close bond. Generally speaking it is the bully who has no close friendships. The bully has no empathy for others due to not being able to see how their behavior hurts others that they really care for.

There is nothing that says best friends are "exclusive". In fact a lot of times 2 best friends, that are kind and generous, can form a core within a larger group that insists on being kind a sharing with one another, and also provides a retreat for others from the bullies, and even can defend against outside bad influences. Strength in numbers.

First they took away childhood by infusing it with sex and violence, now they are taking away the last defense mechanism for children, a best friend who likes you for you, potential help in times of crisis, and otherwise psychological and physical ally in situations that can have devistating effects.
