When a weathervane like her is willing to retire rather than seek re-election in Maine, conservatives should take heart. The left has done everything it could to discredit Gov. LePage, yet his support grows. It has done everything to shore up her support, to little avail.
Perhaps it's finally time for a forthright conservative to announce for the seat. Maine deserves better, and so does the USA.
Hayes was far better than he was given credit for, and far better than what Tilden would have been. Tied to the machine politics from New York and philosophically similar to Woodrow Wilson and William J. Bryan, Tilden would have led the country into far more tumultuous times than what we actually experienced. A man of his word, Hayes didn't stand for re-election in 1880.

What about them? They chose their jobs and they know what the job involved when they applied for it. JP is right. I admire their willingness to take the risks they take, but it is not the same as serving in the military. That is a financial sacrifice for soldier and family, one that's darned difficult for all involved.

VOTE CONSERVATIVE. I grew up with this idiotic prevalent mentality in Massachusetts. The voters time and again listen to all of the solutions for graft, corruption and criminal activity by the Democrats and strip imcumbents of the power - then vote for the incumbents anyway since they can't "do anything bad" - then wonder why things keep getting worse. It doesn't work - vote the clowns out of office who appoint the clowns. If Obama has appointed Holder, why strip Obama of some power then re-elect the powerless clown?
