i'm lauren. . .i stumbled upon your space here somewhere along the way because of your heart for adoption. i am adopted and have a huge heart for the least of these. hope and pray one day i'll have the opportunity to adopt a few of my own. i'm originally from the south but now call orange county home. i read because your honest and fun and do a great job striking the balance. and you never shy away from the hard topics. :)

makes me think of john mayer's "say". this is so true. . .i feel like we often leave our words packaged inside waiting for the right moment. for the right 'way' to say it. when what we really need to do is just say it. say it broken. say it choppy. but just say it.

here's what i need to say to you mrs. tam hodge. . .i love you to pieces and i swear if i don't get to wrap you in a big hug this side of heaven i am going to be sorely disappointed. i am so thankful to know you and distantly share life. love.

both kota and kass seem to get this one, but i wish i had listened closer to my mom's wisdom. . .it would've saved me a lot of heartache. my second biggest piece of advice is know who you are in Christ and compare the words of your peers and parents against what He says about you. i'm still working on that one. insecurity will happen but i sure do wish i had dealt with it more in my teens and healed more so it wouldn't plague me so much in my twenties ;)

by nature i am a planner. but i am definitely learning in this season about rolling with the punches and leaving space in my calendar. even with space, my fuzzy brain syndrome is at an all time high at the moment, so if it isn't in my iphone calendar with an alert, it might as well not exist ;)
