We all have those 'walls' no matter how 'disfunctional' or 'perfect' our backgrounds appear to be. They all need to fall (like Jericho) and it often requires God using His people (in some seemingly impossible situations) to facilitate it. To clarify what I said before, it should have been: "keeping the secret" (by withholding the truth) will no more 'SAVE' her now (emotionally/spiritually?) than it would have then (literally - per Danny's 'threat' to keep you quiet and 'his' to do with as he wished). I'm sorry if I confused the issue. I usually take more time before responding, but hope it is received as intended - to help, not hurt.
I somehow missed this post (obviously a week ago now) before, but maybe that's a good thing, since few will probably come back to read this but you (and I'll understand if you want to edit it out).

The impression I got re-reading your excerpt is that 'keeping the secret' will no more 'kill' her now as it would have then. Isn't that the real lie? It may even be the vehicle to bring her LIFE instead, but I do understand your concern. I have been, am, and will continue to pray for you, especially about this.

My guilty pleasure is about anything dark chocolate, including my homemade fudge sauce. At least I've found a way to make it with xylitol (natural lower calorie sugar substitute), though Nick doesn't like the texture as much. But with Dreyer's Slow Churned No Sugar Added ice cream, it's almost guilt-free (if only saved for weekends =)!

Did someone 'near & dear' make the Oreo cake for you? 'Looks like you had a great time! We just finished up our celebrations with Nick's 5th (combined) party last night -)!!!

I think the Holy Spirit (via Paul) summed it up better than I ever could:

" Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. " 1 Tim. 4:12

It's not 'easy', but the inner peace it brings is worth any challenge it will ever present.
