You are right about the cost of Pilates - at my gym, to take the classes with the reformers, it's an extra $400 for 8 weeks/2x per week.
There is a Yoga studio nearby, though, that has reformer classes for $25/session. I am thinking I might take some here and there. It''s easier to spend $25 here and there than to pay $400 upfront.

If I am shopping for clothes, I have signed up for emails from the site (Old Navy, Junonia, etc) and I wait until it's a great deal.
Absolutely everything is marked sky-high. I worked for an online furniture store once and everything was marked up at least 100%, if not more.

I would say that I started exercising because I wanted to improve my chances at losing weight. And while I loved the feeling at the end of the exercise, I really didn't enjoy the exercise itself after awhile.
I started out swimming, which I loved as a child and really missed as an adult. And I enjoyed it, but it's a huge pain - the suit, the changing in the locker room, drying off, trying to get your bra back on when you're still damp....
And then I moved on to walking because I knew weight-bearing exercise was really good for you. But I really didn't love the way I felt afterward - extremely tired and beat down.
Then I found Yoga. I was instantly hooked. Now I love going to my classes 5 days per week. I don't feel as exhausted. And I don't feel beat down - I feel calm and rejuvenated.

The idea proffered makes sense, as processed foods are so much cheaper and easier for most folks. AND, when I was in dire straights financially, it seemed cheaper to me to spend $3-4 at a time at a fast food joint than $100 in one big gulp at the grocery store.

I'm trying to think, mentally going through the machines in my gym, and I can't think of anything that I haven't tried at least once. OOOOO, The Gazelle thingy - it's like that, but by someone else. I've never tried that!

I think her manager should be shot - if anyone saw the Hooters episode of Undercover Boss, you would know that the he fits in with the male manager on that episode as a pig.
But, on the flip side, everyone knows what Hooters girl is supposed to look like. And yes, just like the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, you have to fit the uniform, no matter what your height and weight are.

I am glad that there is a place for people like Emily to go. I wish that there were more like it for all types of eating disorders.

Cuz you know where you like to take your books? So does everyone else.
And I worked in a public library for a time and my hands were filthy when I processed the incoming books. That's why I can't ever take books from a library again.
