Your response to this book sounds much like mine to Loitering with Intent: satire & general detachment as a reader. I'm sure I also missed some stuff. Fun reading in a very quirky way.

"Stormstay" -- I like that word! And as for staying up late correcting, not only did you do everyone else a favor by placating the storm gods, you made sure you had a day free from such obligation! Enjoy ...

Great post, Florinda. I was a Planned Parenthood client in my 20s, when I was still in college and before I had health insurance. I've been fortunate to have health insurance that covers birth control prescriptions, first for me and now for my daughters who are also thankfully still covered by my healthcare policy until age 25.

Ten years ago, when I lived in England, I was AMAZED to find my family doctor would dispense birth control pills to me AT NO COST TO ME. We are so far away from that in this country ... :/

Love your strategy, Florinda! I've used LT exclusively and could never imagine trying to maintain a GR account as well. But whenever I listen to podcasts like BOTNS or The Readers, they mention their GR groups, and that's had me thinking about GR just a tiny bit. I'm not sure I'll take the plunge, but at least i can see how it might work.

Using Pinterest for your wishlist is an excellent idea! I created a Board to pin my reviews, beginning with a couple of recent ones as well as the two most popular reviews on my blog. I have a Wishlist collection on LT but I use it sparingly, only for books I think are not to be missed. I don't have a place for "all those books I come across that I might or might not want to read someday." Thinking about using Pinterest for that, now. Thanks!

I loved this. I haven't been to a reunion since my 10th, for many of the same reasons. I am connected to several high school friends via Facebook, but with a few exceptions, I've found we have little in common anymore.

I agree this was a strange book, and I was completely gripped by its creepiness. I have chills just thinking about it, and it's been a few years since I read the book!
