They definitely have a great portfolio. Looking at their site, I see several items I recognize.

I might have to have them fix me up a good logo, mine sucks :) $250 is a lot, but I'm sure it'll be worthwhile.

I thought Orange was the "action button color of choice". Is green the new orange? :) I suppose if everybody's been using orange buttons, it could be causing a blindness to orange buttons now, so maybe it's time to ditch the orange.

Impressive, Onibalusi! I indeed found out about your site because of your guest posts as well.

280 in 8 months is more than one guest post PUBLISHED - PER DAY. Which, even if you had a 100% success rate with getting them published, is a huge accomplishment. You are reaping the rewards of hard work, my friend. An inspiration to me personally, and I'm sure many others.

Seems like a good idea for getting started with no income, but for long term business I'd suggest people move on to bigger things in most situations.

Great set of tips. A little tip for marketing on facebook: Make fan pages for your niches, and focus on getting them to be a fan with ads rather than selling with ads. Then use the fan page in the same way you'd use an email list. :)

Your number 2 is a bit illogical, in a subtle way. Here's why: A hugely successful super affiliate may not use their own name or persona for any branding purpose, but they are still a big time super affiliate and we just don't know it.

In fact I know of a few people who fit this description. I'm sure there are many more out there who are not known at all, because they choose to be private. I would submit that there are probably more of these than of the type who do brand their names.

I don't think I'll want to start an affiliate network unless I get to a point where I can hire a full time manager to run it for me. I would not want to be tied down to being the boss of something requiring so many employees. I'm in this industry for the freedom!

Some malls still do quite well. Although if you were to compare their current volume to that of 3-4 years ago, it's probably significantly lower.

I genuinely hope that a significant portion of little shops, whether mall kiosks or main street mom & pop operations, stay in business with their physical presences.

I like to shop at real stores for many things. Sometimes no amount of reviews and customer feedback can make up for holding a product in your hand to feel it's quality or how it works for you personally.

Many of them definitely do need to adapt in order to survive, and perhaps it falls on us in the online realm to help them survive in the physical realm. Not all online advertising has to lead to online sales.

Great story. I really am looking forward to helping my friends and family get started in this business once I've climbed a little further up the ladder.

It'll be especially great for a particular reason I've had in mind awhile: Being able to share the freedom and 'free time' with others. I'm talking about coordinating fun vacations or trips with your favorite cousins or your best friends, or whoever, and never having to worry about whether you all can get the "time off" together.

Also I'm curious what that service is, but I understand why you can't post it. :)

Do readers actually like those bars? I haven't previously seen most of the ones you mentioned, but the ones I have seen visibly slow down my computer. My computer is not slow, either - in my former career I was an IT pro.

I haven't seen any which are smooth and efficient until some of these. In fact, all except Wibya appear to be smooth on their own demo pages.

What works for me, though, isn't likely to be the same for a typical reader. I'm ultra picky about some things average people don't even notice.

Best way to see which concept (bar or buttons) encourages more interaction is to split test :)

I've been thinking about a similar concept, but it was more "write a book" based on the ideas I've blogged about or written emails about. And I was only thinking "ebook".

Now I know there could be a much easier way to do even more! Thanks.
