You can now see the models on the mobistar webpage now, but they are sold out. They are expected back any minute, before the end of the week. You can chose between 3 plans (the cheapest 149$). There is no other way to buy them.

I already went 2x to the movistar shop today : you can not 'reserve' your phone... My kids will have to kiss my bare feet and be my slave for the whole week when I finally get hold of their new gadgets! :) (what a mom has to do for her kids) (sigh)

Thanks for the info ! A friend of mine had mentioned that it was out but as you said, the movistar site does not mention it. I checked regularly at the movistar shop, and even last week they said they still had no news...

I already have a movistar number/plan, do you think I can buy one with that or should I get a new one? Do you know?

Anyway, I will be checking again at movistar first thing tomorrow, and if they know nothing, i will try my luck in Carrefour...

Good article! So true! I linked it to my blog :)

I am surprised you didn't mention the motorcyclers-without-lights, that come out or nowhere :)

Waw that is great! It's a pity they didn't let my Argentine friends through though... maybe their English wasn't well enough to understand that to certain locations they could take theirs. They still don't have the TV they bought in february.
Good luck with yours!

YES I DID IT!!!! THANKS!!!! YOU MADE ME VERY HAPPY!!!

(I had updated all my programs last friday but this update was even more recent) Great!!
Now let us hope the 'small monthly fee' will nog be too much. And with the new software that is going to be released in july (?) we can be online even when skype is not open, what else do we need??

ps i am sure your connecting problems are temporary-

Nice story !

When you decide to bring a TV, please call AA first : last febr, friends of mine bought a 57inch in NY, then called AA and they were told that they could not enter JFK with a box... Security reasons. They had to have it shipped seperately with cargo, paid for the transport, and had to pay 60% duties. It was still cheaper then buying it here, but the stress they had when they had to leave their expensive TV behind caused big marriage problems :D THey have now received news from the officials that the TV has arrived in BA, but they will not be able to get it until after the mundial. Viva Argentina!

Strange, I have the latest update, I have credit, and it says I need WIFI, 3G communications are not permitted due to contractual limitations (or something like that). Can it be because you have a jailbroken? Are you sure you are calling on 3G??
How I want that too :(
thnks anyway

Hi,
Can you actually phone with Skype over 3G??? I checked that with Movistar, and they said it is not possible. I can chat, but not call, unless I have WIFI. I have an iphone contract with Movistar, with unlimited internetacces (3G) the only limits I seem to have are calling with Skype... I have asked for this and they told me that if they would alow 'free' calling with Skype, no one would call with Mobistar.
Any suggestions?
