After months of skin hell, melaleuca and lavender bathes once a day helped tremendously. I have pollen, dustmites, tree, and pet allergies Zyrtec (generic brand is cheaper) is often the "go to" antihistamine recommended by my dermatologist and allergy specialist. They also rave about CeraVu and Cetaphil to rebuild and pamper skin and carry it in their offices (I buy it at Walmart). I'm glad Claritin and coconut oil works for you, they didn't do much for me!

Deep cleaning your surroundings once a week is highly recommended, Lysol included to kill any hidden mold or mildew in the case your allergies are environmental. Evening primrose is a great moisturizer, but the mela/tea tree and lavender will be what really shrinks a flare dramatically. I've used the oils in lotion, but bathing in a few drops each is what's really saved my horrible skin this winter.

The one thing I couldn't live without that's prescription based is my triamcinolone acetonide ointment .1%, it turned my oozing, itchy, beet red rash into smooth, normal skin in 2 days. It's worth the $180 doc visit for the $4 ointment, so don't torture yourself for too long like me and risk getting staph like me from all the itching.

Hope this helps!
