WTF? I've seen less obviously planted signs at WWE shows.

Would Peter Davison's appearance on the new-era Doctor Who count? Granted, whether the new series isn't REALLY a separate entity from the original, but it is a bit more distinct from, say, Star Trek (whose two TV generations were tied together by Roddenberry; there's no such creative overlap with Who)

Especially since he was just on Survivor. Which also draws better ratings than NASCAR.

The old version of Dennis Miller, mind you.

2. Can you identify military ranks by uniform insignias? Of course - thank you Larry Hama and GI Joe comics.
3. Do you known what MMA and UFC stand for? Of course - I'm a male who's under the age of 35. This one's much more of an age thing than any type of class issue (and is likely far more the case in Canada than the US, given that we're proportionally much bigger consumers of MMA events).
4. Do you know what Branson, Mo. is famous for? Yes - thanks to Dennis Miller's mocking of the place in a routine back in the early 90s.
5. Have you attended a meeting of a Kiwanis or Rotary club? No, but my Peewee hockey team was sponsored by the Rotary Club - does that count?
6. Do you know who replaced Bob Barker as host of “The Price is Right?” Yes. Although this question is more "do you have a job?" than anything else, since I don't really expect anyone working a 9 to 5 shift to pay more than cursory attention to daytime TV. Anyway, TPIR is important to everyone of my generation, so I think, again, everyone under the age of 35 would know this by default.
7. Have you ever lived in a town with fewer than 25,000 people? (During college doesn’t count.) Not sure. Richmond Hill might've had that few people in it when we first moved there, but I doubt it.
8. Can you named the authors of the “Left Behind” series? Nope, and I'm not ashamed to admit that one. But is "Left Behind" really a better populist choice than, say, Harry Potter? I don't read Left Behind because I'm not a Christian Fundamentalist who wants a book that reinforces his worldview.
9. Do you live in an area where most people lack college degrees? (Gentrifying neighborhoods don’t count.) Maybe. Ward 20 in Toronto encompasses U of T, after all... so by definition, a lot of the population doesn't have degrees... YET.
10. Can you identify a field of soybeans? My one for-sure no here. Then again, I'm not sure how many Soybeans Ontario produces to begin with.
I suppose I'm a bad subject for this quiz - a Toronto Lawyer living at Queen and Spadina certainly shouldn't have such "anti-elite" knowledge.

A-10s would be an excellent purchase, frankly. Very cost-effective, proven combat history, and could fill both the domestic-patrol (granted, it's listed as slightly slower than, for instance, a 777) and troop support roles. The question would be how willing the US would be to sell them; to the best of my knowledge, they've never done so.
