Oh and thanks for the major shout out! Loved it! Now it's time for you to move to Boston so we can hangout... off the Internet : )

Hey Kristin,

I like your ideas on this Gen Y fame topic.

"Some may say this is a bad thing since it may give people big heads and make them something they are not, but it is also a way for people to interact with others, get their word out there, and if people like it, then hey, they deserve the attention!"

The quote above definitely stood out to me because you're not looking at this Internet fame trend as a bad thing. It's a cultural shift, more and more people (mostly Gen Y) have access to computers and can easily upload photos and videos as well as come up with some cool tweets (@shitmydadsays) and blogs (Texts from Last Night). Before the Internet, none of these great ideas and hilarious concepts would have been discovered. More people are getting an opportunity to be "famous" and I think that's kind of cool.

People who post humiliating videos or pictures are a fact of life and while it might be an embarrassment to our generation, It's unavoidable. What it comes down to is Gen Y fully understands the power of the Internet-- we know how to use it to our benefit whether it's to become famous, learn more, or meet new people, the Internet is what's going to make us better people.
