WHAT MASCULINITY CRISIS?

Are men in crisis?

Hackney MP Diane Abbott spoke out about a ‘masculinity crisis’ at a meeting organised by Demos. She claims that young men are increasingly violent and Suzanne Moore demands to know when men will start to discuss their problem with rape and abuse.

I think your career as an educator is not looking too prosperous, Brett. The article you link cites Dewsbury in West Yorkshire as a 'no go zone' - which is where I grew up. I have often been back, and it is less of a no go zone than the Eruv in Barnet is. So too the French examples are sadly absurd, since my brother lives in the very same no go zones, and has done for the last fifteen years.

Since you have no experience of Europe, can you name me a region of your own country where you, or the police, are not free to go about their lawful business. Or is it, as any sensible person can now see, so much scaredy-cat hysteria.

No, you stick to your closed-world group-think, and don't let any disagreement pollute your pure little heaven. 'No - Go Zones' what a crew of fruitcakes. I guess America has lost it. So much for the champion of the free world.

What 'no go zone' is that? The one in your head? Where in Britain can I not go? Where in America can you not go? I suppose I can't walk into someone's living room and tell them what they should be watching on the television, but that is to the good as far as I can see. Maybe you should be looking out for your own family instead of worrying about what your neighbours are up to.

It's you that's hopeless - raging at the internet because you have no authority in the real world. You want to kick at your imaginary enemy because you are in truth a moral coward and a cripple - all mouth and no trousers.

Well, if their belief is to forcibly convert you, or cut your throat, then there are laws to deal with that. All your talk of 'removed from this country if not from this earth' is just blabber, compensating for your lack of authority in the real world with cyber rage.

Let's face it Brett, everyone is part of the problem, as far as you are concerned, Brett. No-one is pure enough to breath the air of your Republic of Gilead. Wake up? Calm down. You want people 'monitored closely' - like in Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, you mean?

'I can't repeat this enough' - but it doesn't matter how often you repeat it, it won't get to be any more plausible. You want to organise your immigration laws on the basis of people's religious beliefs? Well done: you have made the case for turning America from a democracy into a theocracy! Who needs ayatollahs from abroad, when you are so willing to imitate them.

Why should the civilised and law abiding people of America tolerate the beleivers of the Qur'an? Because in a free society, what people believe in their heads is their business. Unless you want to take responsibility for telling thousands - millions - of people what they should be thinking from minute to minute (and how would you do that, anyway?) you will just have to let them think what they want.

The law is for punishing wrong acts, not telling people what they ought to be thinking.

You say there is no reason for Americans to tolerate muslims - what is your alternative? Put them in camps? Deportation?

Hahaha that's a new one. I did not know that Christianity was so dedicated to the interests of women.

Honor killings are still against the law, as far as I know.

'Disdain for the dominant culture' - sounds like what my ancestors would have said about yours back in 1776. Didn't you lot fight for the right of free conscience. Of course Islam is cobblers, but the way to defeat it is to offer something better, not whine about it.
