Hope Jahren (author of the NYT piece) is currently tweeting excerpts from emails she's received from men about her article. It's both highly amusing and extremely depressing. My favorite is always, "That sounds like the perfect marriage!" Usually shouted by divorced women, followed by gleeful cackles.
I was recently in South Africa and some friends there said that Pistorius is legally entitled to his blades. But the blades are not allowed in prison, and therefore there is a loophole that basically means there is no prison in SA that can hold him. They think he'll get house arrest or something equally infuriating.
