I received no notice of last week's strip at all, but I got this week's notice just seconds ago.

I gotta be honest with ya. You won't be keeping me as a reader. You'll be gaining me.

I've been dabbling at the edges of HE for a long while. I like the format, and I enjoy just about every webcartoonist you've associated with on Twitter and conventions. You even drew a lovely sketch for me in Chicago of Uhura doing her fan dance (I tipped well, I suspect), but in the end, there wasn't a sense of growth or progress about the series that grabbed me. But I always saw the talent and (I know you'll hate this word) the potential in this series to be more than just jokes. With this announcement, I'm now committing to your series. I have that much faith in you. Plus I know Willis will now REALLY let you have it if you screw up!

Sylvia, the fantasy panel is well thought out and very effective. He doesn't see her face, and probably doesn't even care about that. In this way, he dehumanizes her. From that angle, the reader also can't see her face and so shares the feeling of the dehumanizing. This conveys the shame that Brian, in the next panel, feels (on her behalf) very nicely. Rather than being titillating, it is very discomforting, and that isn't always easy to pull off. Well done!

The phrase "You don't have to explain your thoughts to me." has led me to (probable) overthinking on my part here - Some of us 'think' in complete sentences... others in word- and phrase-fragments. And most of us mix in aspects that aren't mentally verbalized. Just how much of what Brian perceives is literally 'reading the words of the thought balloons' and how much is sensing the mental stimulations; the feelings, the intentions, etc.? If someone recalls a scent or a sound, does he perceive those sensations as well?

I'm just curious. Just food for... thought.

Is "Truth or Dare Monopoly" really a thing?

My guess: Brian keeps Isaac on speed-dial, since Isaac knows to trust Brian. One call connect, and Isaac comes running, knowing Brian will fill in the details.

I admit a nude photo is extreme, but so is the mind-reading bit. He could admit to embarrassing things, but how could Julia know if they were true? The picture is at least verifiable! I guess my real point is, Brian has been TOO perfect so far... maybe the time has come for HIM to start working a bit to deserve HER for a while.

Forgive me if this comes across as crude, but I'm new here. If Brian wants to help Julia feel a bit more trusting, might I offer a suggestion? You implied earlier Julia figures out if she thinks of what she looks like naked, Brian would see this, and of course she did that, and he saw that, and she was mortified. Brian could hand her a sealed envelope and tell her there's a nude photo of himself inside. She could choose to open it anytime (or not). He would have no say about it other than giving her that option. At least that might prove he was willing to give her unique access to him. It's not a probable situation, I admit, just a humorous option. Of course, getting someone to photograph him for her is a whole 'nother matter!
