My mum makes a great rice pudding, the way only she can make it. We'd have it on Sunday nights after 'Little House on the Prairie' with Laura Ingles Wilder at 6pm. I think of the lounge room with the rocking chair.
She also makes a great soup with roast chicken and vegetables, it takes hours to make, with barley. Only she can create that sustenance with its particular flavour. A dash of fresh lemon.
I think the essential ingredient in all these dishes is THE MIND OF LOVE. ♥
I wouldn't mind tasting Chris's mum's shepherd’s pie and Myriam's grandmother's caramelised apple compote. Maybe we should have a get together where we bring along our favourite dishes from our childhood and feel the contentment all around.
