You guys, the blog I write and edit for Pome is young and unmoneyed, but we have a commitment to daily content, including a once-a-week link aggregate, and we'd love to see Toasties in the comments. (Which we do strictly moderate, resulting in very few comments getting through because most of them are spam.)

Nicole!! I've loved everything you've written here, and you were my very first editor for my very first published essay! I will miss you and the Toast so much but I'm signing up on Catapult today. :)

Oo, oo, I know this one! I work at a bank (a credit union actually).

You can go with him to have the loan re-financed to be just in his name. Having had the loan and (hopefully) making on-time payments should have improved his credit. The terms might not be as good as the original loan, but that's his loss.

Alternatively, you could have it refinanced so it's only in your name. You would still be relying on him to come through with payments though, so that's not the best option, but at the very least you'd be more in control of the situation.

Check your local credit unions first, rather than the big banks. Mine borderline specializes in auto loan refinance, so a lot of times they're going to be getting you the best rate.
