Whenever I see "factlets" in the title, I know it's going to be a great list, and this one is no exception. Jamie, you need to contact whoever makes the dictionary for online words and tell them to stop putting a red squiggly under the word "factlets" I'm pretty sure if it wasn't a real word before, this site has made it one.

I remember when #10 happened. I'm an overnight manager at a grocery store on Long Island and they made us pull all the jell-o off the shelf when they found the first couple of packages. I could not stop laughing when i found out it was just a couple of old people stealing jell-o.

Good list but it should have also included the other sides of the argument. There are also people saying that 2013 will be one of the least active solar maximums in 100 years. Also with Nibiru, if it was really that big and was going to hit us in 2012 it would be easily visible by now. And has anyone seen it? Nope. And according to many scientists polar shifts take hundreds to thousands of years to complete, it's not something that just happens overnight. Also the effect on earth's crust from the sun is miniscule. The big earthquakes are caused by the movement of the tectonic plates that we sit on over the liquid core of the Earth. I'm not saying these are impossible, just ridiculously unlikely.

Yes, but the bombs led to the Cold War and the birth of the atomic age. Would anyone be afraid of North Korea if we didn't think they were trying to build nuclear bombs? No. Would we be afraid of a 3rd world war destroying all life with nuclear fallout? No. The creation of the atomic bombs completely changed everything to do with war due to the fear of nuclear holocaust.

The music that cuts in and out in the Jonestown audio, which apparently was music that they taped over to make this tape, just makes it so much more horrifying. Especially at the end when that's all you hear.

90% of the old nickelodeon cartoons have adult fan bases. Pretty sure most of which are Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life. Haven't gone a single week in the past 5 years without hearing someone older than 18 talk about one of those shows. Myself included.

It's been a while since a list has been "too American" I've missed listening to all the whiners cry about stupid crap. And apparently no one else in the world eats bacon and eggs, or cheese and crackers, or pizza and beer. Need I continue? Pretty sure only 1 or 2 items on this list are strictly American, if any at all.

Isn't that how people are SUPPOSED to judge movies? By how much it entertained them? That was probably one of the dumbest things I ever heard. Just because it was well made doesn't mean someone has to like it. Movies are made to entertain the viewer. Why else would we see them?

Hurt Locker was a good film, but it certainly wasn't amazing or best picture worthy. That being said, neither was Avatar. Again both movies were good but lacking in a lot of ways. Last year was definitely another year of weak movies.
