Yup, I too get all judgmental when I see someone spending on something when, especially when I know they were just complaining about money or whathave you. AND I feel really guilty about spending on things that aren't necessities and assume others are judging me (especially because of our current financial situation--yuck).

Thank you Jen, I have been struggling with this lately-- so frustrated at PEOPLE (people are idiots is a rather common household phrase.) So tired of tiptoeing around, trying not to step on toes while others stomp around with their giant feet smashing all in site. And yes, I struggle to not judge all the idiots...erm, people God intends me to LOVE.

WOOHOO!!! FINALLY! Yeah, HATED that stupid book and never read it with the right words after the first go. The kids and I enjoyed making up better stories and trying to figure out why on earth the author thought that making friends by giving away all your scales was a good thing, especially when now the rainbow fish LOOKED JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Grrrr. And yes, I think it ended up in the trash though not for a long time because it was a gift from a dear friend who likes shiny things.

Woot!!!! And Animal Crossing!!! I thought you said you had no time (Animal Crossing will suck up all your time pretty quick-- highly addictive-- just a heads up.) But so much reading--literally taught my oldest to enjoy reading! And great book finds as well!

Also, I bought you a present at a rummage sale, now to remember to send it.

My goodness-- this had me laughing out loud at the original writers ideas! MY GOODNESS!!!! I mean REALLY! We did at one time set up a "school room" at my kids insistence because they were enamored of the idea of the idea of me being a teacher before they were born and "going to school" so we did (I told them if they were going to make me do this then I would have to treat them like a teacher treats their student during that time-- it was an experiment that they chose to take part in.) Each day I would ask if we could go back to the normal way, and pretty quickly they decided yes, that was quite enough of that. We only did a few hours but still, I was so sick of it by the time we were done with the experiment. Yuck. And the posters they picked out migrated to all sorts of other places in the house, as did the "school books"-- in fact for some reason the bathroom is the best place for both. :) I should note that they have friends in public school but never see all the homework etc, just wanted the "experience" and hated it.

Mandy, that is beautiful. And I totally know where you are (btw, did I mention that our whole mess happened at 8 years? Really.) Continued prayers for you and your marriage.

Hahaha. I suspect the reason I hated it was that I was made to read it and the teacher who was drawing out the discussion was BORING and spoke monotone. He also made us watch a movie called The Bear or somethign like that that made no sense and was and maybe another called the Deer hunter or somesuch. That class was weird and I was in a place where nothing we did made any sense. I might enjoy that book now but at the time I was like 8th grade and didn't understand it and didn't want to read it (I spent my free time borrowing everyone else's required reading and reading those. :) And hanging out in the library. :)) I hated Lord of the Flies and Catcher in the Rye as well.

Mandy, sounds like you would have sat at my table at lunch. :) And yeah, I agree with Jessica-- the whole do a little of everything drives me nuts, and the reading books you HATE! I HATED A Separate Peace, got in trouble for reading The Scarlet Letter TOO FAST (a chapter a week?!?!?!?!? With tests each week???? Had to reread several times in order to not fail the stupid class.)
