"2011 still lingers, and isn’t going away anytime soon"....you got that right. Turned on D&C 3 different times this morning about an hour apart. (like a bad car accident, don't wanna see can't help but look) ...each time they were obsessing over who the, "snitch is the clubhouse" was....funny about this Sports talk radio stuff, they never really talk about sports...
WEEI (and D&C to be more exact) have wiped the "Metco Gorrilla" incident from their memory banks.....no way in hell were they going to bring it up even though it was a comparable incident.....
No way, LTD....come on now, your a media savy guy. They could apologize until the cows come home. The media LOVES THIS KIND OF STUFF. The only way they'll let it go is if the Sox are some kind of superpower juggernaught this season (don't see that happening)......I know I sound like a broken record but today's sports media IS ALL ABOUT soap opera, celebrity and catering to the "casual fan" .....hence the furor about Tebow and "Lin-sanity" it's why they still bring up "Spygate" any chance they get....it's why they spent DAYS talking about what, "Gisele said" and about Gronk dancing after the Super Bowl loss....nope. "apologies" won't put an end to anything media wise, they simply love this stuff too much...and I hate saying it but apparently so do alot of "fans" it must be getting them ratings.....I hear the over/under on how many times the media brings up," beer and chicken wings" this year is 2.5 million ...I'm betting the over
Welome to the Red Sox season.....One LONG 8 month soap opera. Haven't heard them actually talk about THE GAME of Baseball yet but plenty of soap opera crap, and it ain't gonna change.....get use to it
Agree with you on Zo and Gresh, during football season it's the place to go. EXCEPT when I hear them utter these HORRIBLE words,.... " Dan Shaughnessy will be with us until one o'clock" That, would do it for me CLICK off went the radio. Guess I don't pay that much attention cause I listened to Zo and Gresh alot this year but could never figure out exactly what day Shank appeared with them. It was always a disappointing surprise to me when I heard those words. "" Dan Shaughnessy will be with us.....UGH!
Agreed! not to go all "Fanboy" here but looking at it rationally I don't see how the Pats won't be even better next year. (barring catastrophic injuries of course) They are in excellent shape draft pick and salary cap wise. Players like Marcus Cannon,Nate Solder and others they drafted this year will benefit from having full training camp, mini camps etc..(no lockout).....not saying they are guaranteed to win the SB or anything but I'm looking forward to next year very much.
agree 100%, Tony.....I used to enjoy Simmons, there was a time (long ago) when I thought he did have the "pulse" of the REAL Boston sports fan. Maybe it was moving out to La-La land or just working for ESPN, but he LOST the "pulse" a longtime ago. Now I look at him as just another National sports yakker.
,,,,actually I GRONK SPIKED mine into the garbage!
On unrelated, off topic note. Got my issue of Sports Illustrated in the mail today. Leafed through it quickly, ripped it to shreads, tossed it in garbage. Not because of the quality of the articles (didn't even read em') Just couldn't do it. The knot in my stomach is just starting to go away....when does the scouting combine start?
2 Thumbs up, 5 stars and a Blue Ribbon to Reiss for his "rant" like he can read my mind. Fantastic stuff. Same goes to Tom Curran for his "Bottom Liners" column yesterday.
