I had the worst experience with TD this weekend too, although my particular case had to do with my mortgage and a lack of understanding on the TD rep's part. I wrote about it on my blog (not a shameless plug, just if you are interested - I actually cried in the bank, so embarrassing). I find that the reps know the basics but that's about it.

I recommend that you pay particular attention to what happens if you break your mortgage (e.g. sell your place before your term is up). I know you're probably not thinking about that right now, but if you decide to move for whatever reason and you still have x amount of years left on your term, you could get dung with a pretty hefty fee. If you have an open mortgage, then I don't think this will be an issue.

The Lion King is awesome. I saw it in Toronto and I'm seeing it again in May. I'm not a huge musical person either, but this is definitely one that is worth seeing. The set designs are AMAZING and there's the whole nostalgia factor. You should think about buying tickets when you are there - in the middle of Times Square is the TKTS Discount Booth where they sell same day tickets. When I went a few summers ago I saw Avenue Q for about 30% off, and the seats were great. The only downside is that you have to get out there in line before they open, so it puts an awkward hole in your day. And there's the chance that they don't have tickets for your show (although they did have Lion King tix when we went). http://www.tdf.org

There's also the Sex and the City tour, if you are into that. I haven't been on the tour personally though.

Go to the Meatpacking district to walk around and grab lunch - Chelsea Market is a cool little place to walk through and you can get cheap lunch (there's a bunch of different vendors/grocery store type places to pick from). http://chelseamarket.com/

We ate at Balthazar Restaurant, it was pretty good too and neat inside. http://www.balthazarny.com/
