A few A&Ws still have car-hop service. My wife and I stopped for lunch last fall on our way through Standish, MI. I drove in, looking for the drive-thru, and noticed the food bays. Sure enough, out came a waitress on roller skates! I remember an old-school one in Berkley that had them at least through the early aughts, but I don't think it's there anymore.

Not really my dream, but probably the best one I've owned thus far, a '97 Crown Victoria (just like this but mine was mint green). Picked it up on Cape Cod on the way to a wedding in Providence, then back down to NYC and quite a few round trips to Michigan. It towed a huge trailer with all my worldly possessions back to Detroit a few years back, cruising well above the recommended towing speed without issue. It was a great road-trip car, but so damn big! Sold it to get a Rabbit a few years back.

My neighbor (hunch backed old retiree) has a Dynasty as his nice "Sunday" car, while his daily driver is an Escape. Sad to say, he probably wouldn't get much more than $700 for that Dynasty if he sold it. What kind of shape is your dad's in?

God I hope so, because all my cars have it in spades! Except for the F-100, gotta love drum brakes.

I wonder what the final curb weight will be. Autoweek listed it at "around 2400 lbs", which seems high, considering the European models top out around 2200. I guess the poor thing stuffed it's face at the In-N-Out shortly after arrival.

I can verify the speed claim, I did 180kph in my parents' old Trans Sport, on a freeway in China no less. On many occasions.

[youtube U8FBAuyW5qI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8FBAuyW5qI youtube] I've never driven a combine, but if I did, I would probably end doing something like this.

Ahh, that makes sense then. I'd probably still be driving mine too if it wasn't for the tin worm and the idiot that rear-ended me on the Taconic State Parkway.

True, but wasn't there a recall on the 3VZE? IIRC, mine had it's head gasket replaced free of charge by Toyota around 180k. Still running strong when I gave it to a friend with 252k.
