Climate change.............isn't the IPCC made up of over 1000 contributing scientists and leading research institutions, Govts etc, who all seem to concur that the climate is seriously being damaged. Therefore we must ask ourselves, what is the statistical likelihood that all these smart people are wrong?? Hmmh!!!__Ironically business wise there will be a huge opportunity for the planet to get into being green in all its consumerism, which will no doubt lead to spin off innovations as well. So tackling climate change will be not only be good for the planet but for business too. Only religious idiots don't get this.__:)

Our species is so fickle in many ways, constantly self assessing...............a 'double edged sword'.
Usually a trigger of some sort................"I saw Jesus in an ice-cream cone and then I had a dream about Jesus who was working in an ice cream parlour........it's a sign, it must mean something???????"..........yeah right!
People can justify their actions and opinions and create truth in their heads! I just love it when people change their beliefs......................like football teams. Your point about group three is interesting, as many never really confront the god issue?
Tomorrow I might become a Viking...........just to see what it feels like! :)

Final bit
Sorry if this sounds like I bemoaning the system………………but do think the majority of people have their head up their arse, when they are faced with difficult circumstances. It’s also a sense of perception for me, yes I know many are losing jobs/houses/marriages……………..but when I look at other parts of the world, where a third of the population live in real poverty and children die before they reach their fifth birthday, well it makes me take stock and hardens my resolve, your colleague with his three houses has nothing to really worry about…………shit some people don’t have one fucking house!!Not that I begrudge people weallth, but there is a trade off ith risk and accountability.

As humans we expand our minds/problems to fit our life…..me included!!

Currently I suspect in times of trouble the human condition becomes very selfish………..that we start making decisions for our best interest rather than the collective and politicians get caught into making promises they know they will default upon….and here’s the rub, WE ALL KNOW IT, but still we play along like the don’t say….’the emperors got no clothes on’ scenario. Actually we probably need to pay more taxes, contribute more into social welfare institutions……………take a ten year plan view…..but alas no President would ever get elected if they told the through…..very sad situation really.

Like you I am always end up feeling a mix of amusement, outrage and dis-belief by what I consider the ‘average Joe’s’, stance and political awareness. Maybe it’s our education system, this idea that economics/social politics/philosophy are classed as higher education learning and by virtue the masses miss the opportunity to learn/be involved, so it becomes second nature as they develop into adults that they automatically take an interest. Although I am aware that research has demonstrated that many humans are like rivers and take the easy course in life and avoid obstacles or issues………they would rather watch the latest X factor show!!
Like many I suspect that when it comes to politics, I am not driven to identify with one particular party, how could they ever represent my individual views/opinions as a whole!! No it tends to be individuals themselves that impress me. The one failing of our so called democratic process is that we are left to choose between a very limited selection of parties, a sort of a least worst option.

Say all the above, with love and in a calm manner. When people challenge just smile and say NO…..things are going to change. This isn’t about beliefs it’s about three humans that need to get on better and respect each other and as the Alpha male I am not putting up with it anymore and I am effecting change in this family!!!
What have you got to lose, if you and your brother can stand in unity and present a solid force, the other parties will have their power bases undermined…………….tell them that if they don’t respect each other then be it on their heads!!
Good luck with however you choose to deal with.......to be true to yourself!!

Dad – maybe time to break the parent child dynamic hear!! That dear old dad is no longer the Alpha male in the group? Had my own seminal moment with my dad when I was thirty, oh yeah he still thinks he’s top dog, but when I now stare him in the eye, he’s the one that looks away first now!! So I let him strut about, but he knows deep down who’s got the power. The child has become the parent now!!
Granny – dear old granny!! …….get your gran on her own, maybe with your sibling and say you need to talk. Then just sit there you and your sibling for stare at her……..when she starts to look confused, just say “ Gran, things, ARE going to change, no more goading mum, or putting on her……then smile get up and close the door calmly behind you”……no discussion, isn’t up for challenging , this is how it’s going to be!!!
