Yay another post! Love it! This is definitely a topic that needs to be discussed as many people do not know the exact definition of a journalist. I am currently a junior, journalism major at the University of Maryland, College Park, so I am still getting trained in the field. However, I do know that being a blogger does not make you a journalist, having a tumblr does not make you a writer, and that many people do not understand all of the hard work that actually goes into succeeding in this field. Thanks a million for this post because it is definitely something that I need to hear so that I can handle the "no's" that are being thrown my way now and the millions more to come in the future.

No, you must NOT stop the blog. I found out about your work over at Clutch Mag a few weeks ago and I have been addicted ever since. I tried emailing you about my admiration of your work, but for some reason the email did not go through. As an undergraduate student who aspires to be a journalist myself, I know exactly where you are coming from. Although I don't have my degree yet, and haven't really stepped foot into the industry just yet, I have constant worries about how I will survive as a writer. I know it is hard for anyone to become a successful journalist, but I am aware of the even greater challenges that come along with being a black female journalist. Bene I just want you to know that you MUST keep pushing because it's black women like you, who young black women like me, turn to for hope in a time where people are constantly questioning your ability to succeed as a writer.
