DynCorp International Selected for Department of State Worldwide Criminal Justice Program Support Contract

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – June 13, 2011 – DynCorp International (DI) today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of State (DoS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) as one of five providers on the Criminal Justice Program Support (CJPS) contract.

Awarded on May 10, 2011, the multiple-award, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has one base year with four option years and a total value of $10 billion across all providers. DI will compete with the four other providers for task orders to support criminal justice sector development programs worldwide, providing advisors, other specialists, and life and mission support services.

“Supporting the development of law enforcement and criminal justice programs around the world is one of our core competencies and we bring decades of experience to these programs,” said DI president Steve Schorer. “We are honored to have the opportunity to compete for task orders under this contract and look forward to supporting this important program.”

Since 1994, the U.S. government has relied on DI to find, train, deploy, and support U.S. civilian police to assist and train local police forces in post-conflict nations. The company has deployed more than 6,000 law-enforcement professionals in 16 countries across the globe.

Jailing of Croat general ignites anger at EU

They are not able to deliver a "victory" because their political masters keep changing the goal posts and redefining mission accomplishment.

Government and it's military/police forces do NOT have all the best and the brightest, all the political support, and all the people support. Al Qaeda, pirates and Mexican drug cartels all have separate and distinct government agencies who seek to assume leadership of the fight or evade responsibility for failure to successfully fight.

I don't share your faith in the market. "Destroying the enemy" entails killing people and breaking their stuff and is highly illegal when done by anybody except military or paramilitary agents of a Westphalian nation-state sanctioned to perform such acts. War is the continuation of politics by other means, and politicians declare who the enemy is and appropriate funds to pay for fighting him. There is no significant constituency clamoring for Letters of Marque & Reprisal politicians need appease.

Could Militia Pistoleros Defeat Jihadi Spetnaz?

"We are all potential soldiers. And we all may be, at any moment, at the war’s front, because in this war the front can be anywhere.

“No one is going to help us. We’ve got to do it ourselves.”

A bit of healthy paranoia is warranted these days. It CAN happen here.

Americans can choose NOT to be defenseless. Patriots pack heat. And every time they slip that S&W Model 642 in their pants pocket or that Kimber Pro Covert II into a Milt Sparks Summer Special inside-the-waistband holster or that Keltec P-32 in their bra, they think, for a few seconds, that today may be that day.

It will take courage to engage an AK-47 wielding terrorist with a hand gun. It takes courage to fight a small fire with a fire extinguisher. The guy with the AK will probably kill you if you miss. Enough of us must find that courage within ourselves to take the shot, or we will be powerless victims, too.

May St. Gabriel Possenti steady our trembling hands.

The ROK's will put up with outrageous provocations because they do not want to assume responsibility for the 60 some odd million dwarfed, brain-addled, stuck-in-the-70's, unemployable, unassimulable Stalinist NORKs. They saw what happened to Germany. They also don't have many spare sons to send off to war for the reunification of the peninsula.

Nor can they have much confidence in the United States with this Commander-in-Chief. Neither can anybody else, as will become apparent as this provocation and those to follow reveal America to be a toothless tiger. The loss of face will take a long time to heal.

What, exactly, does the winner of a war with North Korea actually win, anyway?

The United States is either being invaded & must be defended, or it is just experiencing a minor increase of undocumented Democrats who are only committing misdemeanors when they come here through unauthorized border crossing points & the most draconian punishment they deserve is to be sent back to Mexico.

Pick one.

Is "legal apprehension" of misdemeanor-violating petty criminals by unionized Federal law enforcement officers what you want, or do you want the land frontier of America DEFENDED against invasion?
