Whole pigs, pork shoulders, briskets, ribs, turkeys, salmon, you name it, it’s all great in La Caja China!

Great article, thanks!

I'm all for this! My only concern would be noise and smell issues. I've had enough of these issues with neighbors who DIDN'T have animals, lol.

My other concern is that people who are uneducated and/or unprepared for the responsibility of caring for livestock will jump on "the latest thing", and animals will end up being neglected and/or abused when the reality that farm animals require a whole different level of care than the family cat.

That aside, I would love to have a small, sustainable "micro farm" of egg-bearing chickens, some rabbits, and maybe a goat or two.

Interesting article, thanks!

The Asopao de Pollo y Mariscos looks fantastic, I loved this episode! Any suggestions on a specific white wine for this recipe, or does it matter?

Thanks!

Tony, love your show, but someday, somebody's gonna find what's left of you after Samantha Brown and Rachel Ray drag your drunk @ss into a dark alley one night, and kick you to death with their pointy shoes...

I've had a number of friends borrow my La Caja China (and me) to roast a whole pig for their reception. If you have someone with even rudimentary bbq skills, it can actually be cost effective to even buy your own roasting box and pig, as opposed to paying a caterer to do so. Box, pig, and charcoal, you can feed 100-120 people for less that $500.

Obviously, if you can find one to borrow or rent, you can really save a lot.

Not to sidetrack, but this "intensedebate meter"...blows.

I wanted to know why I received a -57 score rating on my "reputation" so I tracked it down...of the thousands of comments I've posted this year, this system tracked exactly 5 of them. 3 of which are from a single thread: a complaint about how n airline treated a plane-full of us passengers.

Because we were going to Hawaii on vacation, and because it happened to be the same weekend as the Tsunami, and because the local news station made us their lead-in joke that evening, my comments were blasted.

Kinda pisses me off that this software is rating and advertising my online reputation with a red exclamation point, based on 1/1000th of my actual comments.

I make my living online, and I'm wondering if the owners of this service are familiar with the phrase, "defamation of character"?
