As a dumb bastard with rare old cars, I understand the motivations here.

I must submit the bathtub Packards. Series 23 Packards had a traditional-looking hood which latches with two levers in the cabin, one each in the footwell on either side of the cab. Release one side to tilt open from that side, the other lever allows access to the other side, release both latches to pull the hood off entirely (a one-man job)

Porsche still uses Nikasil. The stuff is great as long as the fuel has low sulfer content and the engine runs hot.

We were walking around SEMA and lamenting the looks of the Panamera while lauding its interior accommodations. Basically it came down to "It's a great car but it's too ugly to buy." Immediately the subject of the Rapide came up and its laughably compact rear seats and questionable reliability. It was unanimously decided the Rapide could be on fire rolling backwards down a hill through a boulder field and at the bottom it would still be worth purchasing over the Porsche, it just looks that good.

Oy, Glad I just write things for Hearst instead of manage stuff. I know Matt DeLorenzo and Jim Meigs pretty well and this isn't the kind of thing either one of them would find acceptable. As a result, I'm going to blame the subscription management company.

PS. the circulation department has been informed of these shenanigans.

I saw this baby at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, the car is part of an exhibit at some museum the name of which I've forgotten. There are a bunch of these kinds of sculptures, all expertly crafted and amazing. http://imgur.com/a/BoFkJ

Tell him thanks for his loyalty and to be on the lookout for some pretty exciting changes in the near future.
