The key dysfunction of the RH Bill ‘debate’: leaving out the ‘being’ from the ‘human’ equation
The irony here (which I suppose I should spell out, this being a blog frequented by Filipinos), is how the Church and its “devout” minions who framed the 1987 Constituion in the midst of huffing and puffing about the “sanctity” of “human life” seem to have left out an essential ingredient of the essence of what sets us apart from the rest of “God’s creations,” — that of our being sentient, self-aware, BEINGS.

Population has everything to do with the progress of a nation -- specially so in the Philippines where, on the average, every baby born is a liability rather than an asset to society. Indeed there "vast tracts of land barely touch" over the entire islands. But then why do Pinoys choose to crowd themselves in cities? It's because there is nothing out there that we can develop into productive endeavours -- at least nothing that the nonexistence imagination faculties of Da Pinoy can apply itself to.
And, dude, next time try to engage in a discussion with defering to the concept of a "God". Not everyone is a believer in God and certainly not all are Catholics. Have a bit of respect for those who are of a different faith.

Iran: model of successful population control and an inspiration to Filipinos
The Iranian experience in implementing a successful population management program has become a model for many countries that seek to overcome the debilitating burden overpopulation presents to development aspirations. The most remarkable aspect of Iran’s program is in how what was once a religious directive to go forth and multiply had been repealed by the very same religious offices that issued it back in the heady days following Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

Church will 'never surrender' - Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma
The Philippine Roman Catholic Church will "never surrender" even if President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III approves the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) Bill being debated in the Philippine Congress. This is according to Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.
