The irony here (which I suppose I should spell out, this being a blog frequented by Filipinos), is how the Church and its “devout” minions who framed the 1987 Constituion in the midst of huffing and puffing about the “sanctity” of “human life” seem to have left out an essential ingredient of the essence of what sets us apart from the rest of “God’s creations,” — that of our being sentient, self-aware, BEINGS.

And, dude, next time try to engage in a discussion with defering to the concept of a "God". Not everyone is a believer in God and certainly not all are Catholics. Have a bit of respect for those who are of a different faith.

The Iranian experience in implementing a successful population management program has become a model for many countries that seek to overcome the debilitating burden overpopulation presents to development aspirations. The Philippine Roman Catholic Church will "never surrender" even if President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III approves the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) Bill being debated in the Philippine Congress. This is according to Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.
