Beautiful post, Brooke. I'm so glad I've "met" you (albeit virtually)! You've ministered to my heart in so many ways even in the couple short weeks I've followed you here. You're dedication to putting Christ and your family first is awesome and evident, and you're right--He'll take care of what needs to be taken care of with your writing and ministry. It's all about balance--this crazy writing/online ministry world. And it's a balance that's tough to find. I can't wait to learn more about what you learn about that balance (and about BOYS, of course!). Thanks again for being so courageous in sharing your heart and in following Him so transparently. Blessings and mercies to you!!!

"Mining with the Stars!" SNORT!!!! Ok, I write a weekly newspaper column and I admit, I wrote one for next week about the miners. All snorting aside, this story is a fabulous example of how God shows Himself, His mercy and His grace . . . and how He bamboozles even the most astute mainstream media into an unavoidable, unmatchable, undebatable just-plain-awesome expression of HIM.

My mom bought me a ticket to the August '10 event in Indy. As someone who's been to many retreats and events, I admit I went into it a little skeptical about it being anything that would be different from all the other Christian events I'd seen or done. But by the end of the weekend, I was blown away, breathtaken, and just knee-bucklin' in awe of my Savior and my God. Everything Mary says in your interview here is so true! Too often, we nutty women are clueless to the fact we need a break and we need EACH OTHER. WOF, with the balance of Anita Renfroe and Patsy Clairmont's awesome humor, and even the balance of some man-time with Andy Andrews and Steven Curtis Chapman, was exactly what my fried soul needed! And I didn't even know I needed it until I was immersed in and swept away by the love of Jesus that eminated from the entire WOF crew. Even now, two months later, I listen to my Mandisa CDs whenever I get in the car, and I'm reminded of My Deliverer. Our Deliverer. And for all these reasons and more, I am completely smitten with WOF!!!! Thank you!!!!

LOVE this post. I've been reading about Caleb in Numbers 13 the past couple days, and how he never gave up and was such a steadfast example to the Israelites. I hope to lead, live and write like this. Thanks for (re)posting this. It encouraged me today.

Stacey--this part about being a mama spoke to me in warm & cozy ways this morning: ". . . I want so much for them, but what I can really give them is me – my heart, time, energy, encouragement, sense of humor and I can tell them of Jesus . . . " (Oh, and Mary said I could win some of your stuff if I comment, lol!) :) Blessings on all your precious work!

Loved this--and chuckled because I wrote my newspaper column about being "stuck" this week too! Must be a theme, or the lack of rain, or something. :)

I love that scene from Ferris. It is good to get lost in art.

Snort!!! This one time, when they were really desperate, me & my DH got to serve Communion. Yeah, bet they never ask us again. I had my cut off jeans on. LOL.

Hahahahaha--no wonder I didn't make the worship team when I tried out! I forgot my hoop earrings, brownies and Bumble & Bumble! (Oh, and I almost fell on top of the judges when I closed my eyes and tried to raise my hands in praise at the same time.)
