If I jailbroke my iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) on iOS 5 with Snowbreeze, can I just run this new version of Redsn0w on top of it?

Also, I'm desperately waiting for an iBooks fix for jailbroken iOS 5. Any news on when this will be available?

Thanks in advance.

Download iOS 5 for your iPhone 4 . After that, download either Redsn0w or Snowbreeze (depending on what computer you're using) to make a custom ipsw. Then restore to the custom iOS 5 ipsw file thorugh iTunes (hold shift and press restore to find the custom ipsw)

You can upgrade to iOS 5 and jailbreak your iPhone 4 using Redsnow (for Mac) or SnowBreeze (for Windows). Remember that it will be a tethered jailbreak.

Try restarting your iPhone and reinstall ultrasn0w from cydia.

I'm guessing your 3GS is a new bootrom model and as of now, there is no unthetered jailbreak for it. Word has it that it should be released very soon though

Use redsn0w for Mac or Snowbreeze for Windows. These jailbreak tools won't upgrade your baseband, they will preserve it. Remember, if your 3GS is new bootrom, then you''ll have a tethered jailbreak

With a tethered jailbreak, you always need to reboot with Redsn0w or else your iPhone wont boot. If this seems like an inconvenience - which it is - I suggest you wait for an untethered jailbreak, which will come out very soon.

I don't know if it might have to do with your 3GS being a new bootrom. Just a wild guess....

If you're on Windows you can download Snowbreeze to jailbreak iOS 5

Word is that everyone is having the same problems. Some say it might have to do with the high demand for iOS 5 - not to mention iPhone 4S - and that the servers are backed up. I hope it starts working ASAP!
