Thanks for an excellent article. I am a Muslim that believes in equal rights for gays and lesbians. The only reason that the Islamophobes call Islam an "ideology" rather than a religion is because they don't want Muslims' religious rights protected. Yes, we are a religion, we worship a god, we just don't follow a random ideology, we follow an ideology prescribed to us by Allah, the Supreme.

BTW, there is a good debate about Islamic Sharia law on Loonwatch where I just debated an Islamophobe and basically proved to her/him that my practice of Sharia in USA is fully compatible with the US constitution.

So according to your logic, why is Al-Qaeda termed an Islamic killer when all its kills, namely people in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are Muslims.
